General Purpose Building building at the Talkinikum

In the former patient garden of the gynecological clinic, the availability and function building in the Talkinikum was built in 2006. A common open foyer provides access to the four units on two floors. The first floor currently houses the psychosomatic outpatient clinic and rooms for child and adolescent psychiatry. The upper floor houses the psychosomatic department and space for the university hospital's service rooms.

We propose to form a courtyard with the body of the extension. The arrangement of two building blocks as an angular structure creates a slender courtyard open to the south. This courtyard connects the areas of the psychosomatic clinic in the existing building with the new shared areas of the extension, such as the dining and lounge area. The angular structure mediates the height difference between Liebermeisterstraße and the entrance level of the ViTa.
